october 28th, in kansas city. the chiefs were in town. today, maybe oakland would finally get a win. this game was about oakland's defense. phillip wheeler with the sack on brady quinn. kansas steady grand total of 17 yards in the first half. quip was just awful. he was 18 of 3 2, 136 yards. on third down picked off, his second interception of the year. oakland with some pretty good field position on the chief's 30-yard line. they hand it off to darren mcfadden. 3rd and 1, he's staffed. on the sidelines, mcfadden wasn't happy. runs downfield for the 1st down, but right before the end of the first half sebastian janikowski again, this from 57 yards out, the kick subpoena, the kick is good. 9-0 at the has. janikowski three of four in the first half. second half, this will make mcfadden happier. 19-yard burst. he had 110 yards on the ground, his best game since the last time these two teams played. chiefs didn't get a first down until midway through this third quarter. oakland snapped their six-game losing streak with a 15-0 win. >> reporter

reports of victim, many of them children, in small towns and big cities all across america. victims whose much of the time their only fault was beg in the wrong place at the wrong time. we can't tolerate this any more. these tragedies must end. and toned them we must change. we will be told that the causes of such violence are complex, and that is true. no single law, no set of laws can eliminate evil from the world or prevent every senseless act of violence in our society. but that can't be an excuse for inaction. surely we can do better than this. if there's even one step we can take to save another child, or another parent, or another town from the grief that's visited tucson and aurora and oak creek and newtown, and communities from columbine to blacksburg before that, then truly we have an obligation to try. in the coming weeks i will use whatever power this office holds to engage my fellow citizens from law enforcement, to mental health professionals, to parents and educators in an effort aimed at preventing more tragedies like this. because what choice do we have? we
